Chinese Foldable Phones Selling Rapidly, Sales Skyrocket
The launch of Xiaomi’s latest foldable phone has been met with a positive response from the Chinese public, with sales performing exceptionally well.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is priced starting from 10,999 yuan (approximately Rp 28.7 million) in China. Pre-orders have commenced, with official sales beginning today, 10 September 2026.
The company has released its initial sales figures, noting that the Xiaomi 18 Fold has sold 310% more than the previous generation.
Xu Fei, Vice President and CMO of Xiaomi Group, described the achievement as a great success, as reported by Gizmochina on Thursday (10/9/2026).
The foldable phone features a 5.38-inch AMOLED screen that expands to 7.58 inches when unfolded. Both screens support a 120 Hz refresh rate with brightness levels reaching up to 4,000 nits.
When folded, the device has a thickness of 5.02 mm and weighs 219 grams.
In terms of performance, the phone utilises the Xiaomi Xring 03 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The battery capacity is 6,000 mAh, with the Xiaomi 18 Fold supporting 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The rear of the device houses a triple camera system with Leica support. The main camera is 200 MP, accompanied by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
At present, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is only available in China, and there are no indications of a release in other countries yet.
