Chinese Company to Operate 3,000 Robotaxis by End of 2026
Guangzhou (ANTARA) - The fleet of robotaxis operated by Pony.ai, a leading Chinese autonomous technology company, will surpass 3,000 vehicles by the end of 2026, according to its financial report, with robotaxi services to be implemented in more than 20 cities worldwide.
The company recorded total revenue of 629 million yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,448) in 2025, representing a 20 per cent year-on-year increase, as stated in the company’s financial report.
For 2025, the company’s robotaxi business revenue reached 116 million yuan, surging 129 per cent, while passenger fare revenue increased nearly 400 per cent compared to the previous year, the report mentioned.
Pony.ai Founder and CEO Peng Jun stated that 2025 marked an important year in the company’s development, achieving comprehensive expansion in revenue scale, robotaxi fleet size, operational network coverage, and user base.
In March 2026 alone, Pony.ai launched its robotaxi services in Hangzhou and Changsha, two major cities in China, as well as in Croatia.
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in southern China, Pony.ai currently operates a fleet of more than 1,400 robotaxis and around 200 robotrucks.
The total global testing mileage of its autonomous driving has reached more than 70 million kilometres, with over 20 million kilometres completed in full self-driving mode.
