Chinese citizens deported

PEKANBARU, Riau: Five Chinese citizens have been deported for visa violations, a senior official at the Pekanbaru Immigration Office said on Monday.

The five entered the country with visas that allowed them to seek investment opportunities in the country, but they were instead found selling Chinese-made goods in Pekanbaru, said Amir Nizam Rasyid, the head of law enforcement at the immigration office

Twenty-four Chinese citizens have been deported from Pekanbaru over the last year for visa violations. -- JP
