Chinese businesses interested in building Aceh-Medan highway
Banda Aceh (ANTARA News) - A Chinese company, "Cina Sfeco Representatif", is studying the possibility of building a 460-km highway between Banda Aceh city and Aceh Tamiang in the eastern part of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province.
A wish to that effect was expressed by a group of Chinese companies with wide experience in road building in Shanghai in a meeting with head of the Aceh provincial transportation office Muhyan Yunan here on Wednesday.
"Their interest in building the highway from Banda Aceh to the border with North Sumatra, will be considered by the provinvial administration," he said.
The wish was already laid down in a memorandum of understanding between the NAD administration and representatives of the Chinese companies.
When asked what it would cost to build the highway, he said that each kilometer of the project would cost Rp 5 billion to build.
It was also reported that Cina Sfeco Representatif is known as the biggest and most successful company in China in the construction of highways and freeways. (*)
