Chinese airlines to cut domestic fuel surcharges

Beijing (ANTARA) - Airlines in China will reduce fuel surcharges for domestic routes within mainland China for tickets sold starting from 6 June, Air China and other carriers revealed on Tuesday (2/6). The surcharge will be reduced to 80 yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,642) or approximately 11.73 US dollars (1 US dollar = Rp17,883) per flight segment for routes of 800 kilometres or less, and to 150 yuan for longer routes. Infants will be exempt from the surcharge, while children, military personnel with disabilities, and police officers with disabilities will receive a 50 per cent discount. Compared to current rates, the surcharge will decrease by 10 yuan for routes of 800 kilometres or less, and by 20 yuan for longer routes.
