China's Zhu Rongji visits Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): China's vice-premier Zhu Rongji arrived
yesterday for a five-day official visit to boost diplomatic ties
between his country and Malaysia, the national Bernama news
agency reported.

Zhu is scheduled to attend a state dinner hosted by Malaysian
Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and hold talks with Prime
Minister Mahathir Mohamad later in the week, officials said.

Among items on his agenda are an economic briefing on
Malaysia, a visit to national car plant Proton, an audience with
King Tuanku Ja'afar and a tour of the southwestern Malacca and
northern Penang states.
