The streets of Beijing, China, have undergone a dramatic transformation in recent days. They are now filled with armoured security vehicles from the United States, ahead of the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping next week.

Photos of these vehicles have been circulating on Chinese social media this week. One of them is a black SUV with tinted windows and a US government licence plate. It is reportedly part of Trump’s motorcade when abroad.

In addition, there is the limousine known as The Beast. This custom-made Cadillac is claimed to be one of the safest vehicles in the world, according to New Fortune Times on Friday (8/5/2026).

Its function is not only as a means of transportation for the US President. The Beast also serves as a mobile command centre with advanced communication and defence systems.

The Beast weighs around 6,800 kg to 9,100 kg, according to a report from the South China Morning Post. The report also reveals that the vehicle is armoured with steel, aluminium, titanium, and thick bulletproof glass.

It is reportedly extremely secure as it can withstand gunfire, explosions, and chemical attacks. It also features the most secure communication systems, emergency medical equipment, and its own oxygen supply.

The US President’s motorcade is indeed quite spectacular. Known as the White House on wheels, the presidential entourage consists of The Beast, decoy limousines, counter-assault units, electronic warfare vehicles, medical teams, and motorcycles.

US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to meet on 14 May 2026.

The two leaders are expected to discuss various sectors, including trade, technology, tariffs, and geopolitics. With high security measures in place, observers say the meeting is important for both countries.
