Beijing (ANTARA) – Profits at China’s major industrial companies rose 15.5% year on year to 6.03 trillion yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,716) from January to September, maintaining double-digit growth since the start of the year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China.

In September alone, industrial sector profits increased by 14.4% year on year. The electronics industry emerged as the main driver of growth, with profits doubling from a year earlier and contributing 9.6 percentage points to the overall rise in industrial profits.

Meanwhile, profits in high-tech manufacturing surged 52% year on year, exceeding the overall industrial average by 36.5 percentage points, as demand continued to grow in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) computing capacity and data-centre infrastructure.

In the first three quarters, high-tech manufacturing accounted for 25.5% of the total profits generated by China’s major industrial companies, up 6.2 percentage points from a year earlier.

As high-end manufacturing continues to advance and new quality productive forces take shape at a faster pace, China’s industrial sector is steadily shifting towards a more advanced, innovation-driven structure, said Yu Weining, a statistician at the NBS.

Earlier data showed that China’s industrial sector continued to gain momentum in the first three quarters of 2026, with value-added industrial output rising 5.3% year on year.
