China's Changying-8 Unmanned Cargo Aircraft Completes Maiden Flight
Zhengzhou (ANTARA) - The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) cargo aircraft Changying-8 has successfully completed its maiden flight at Zhengzhou Airport in central China’s Henan Province on Tuesday. This fixed-wing unmanned cargo aircraft was developed by Beijing Beifang Changying UAV Technology Co., Ltd. and is China’s first 7-ton class UAV cargo platform to be validated through flight testing. The Changying-8 UAV cargo aircraft features an ultra-large cargo compartment with a volume of 18 cubic metres, a maximum take-off weight of 7 tons, and a maximum payload capacity of 3.5 tons. The UAV can accommodate various transportation needs, from conventional goods, fresh items and cold-chain products, to emergency equipment. The maximum range of the aircraft exceeds 3,000 kilometres. The UAV cargo aircraft represents a breakthrough in efficient transportation with high adaptability and the ability to operate in various conditions, thereby providing equipment support for the development of the low-altitude economy and the construction of emergency response systems. The UAV can be applied in various scenarios such as long-distance logistics transportation, emergency aid delivery, supplies in border areas, and operations in complex terrain.
