China Urges Restraint and Full Ceasefire Amid Ongoing Lebanon-Israel Tensions

China is deeply concerned about the current situation between Lebanon and Israel, a foreign ministry spokesperson said, emphasising that Lebanon’s sovereignty and security should be respected. Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to media reports that attacks on Lebanon continue despite a ceasefire agreement. China hopes that the relevant parties will exercise restraint in their words and deeds, uphold peace, and earnestly implement the ceasefire agreement, Lin said. He added that Beijing seeks a comprehensive and permanent end to the hostilities to create conditions conducive to peace and tranquillity in the Middle East.
