China has urged the United States President to halt military operations against Iran. Previously, US President Donald Trump threatened to intensify attacks on the Gulf nation.

According to China, military operations do not solve problems and instead heighten conflicts.

“We urge the conflicting parties to immediately cease military operations,” stated Spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mao Ning during a press conference in Beijing on Thursday (2/4).

On the other hand, Donald Trump justified the military operations as a means to put greater pressure on Iran.

“We will strike very hard in the next two to three weeks,” said Trump.

China identified the root of the problem in the Strait of Hormuz, which disrupts global stability, as the illegal US-Israel military operations against Iran.

“Ending the military actions and restoring peace and stability in the Gulf would allow international shipping lanes to reopen safely,” emphasised Mao Ning.

The Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters, according to Mao Ning, are vital international trade routes for the distribution of global trade commodities and energy.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump claimed to have held talks with Iran regarding a US-Iran agreement.

US President Donald Trump stated that the US no longer imports oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
