China to Purchase Aircraft and Aircraft Engines from the United States

Beijing (ANTARA) - Beijing and Washington have reached an agreement regarding the purchase of aircraft, engines, and other components from the United States by China, said the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Saturday.

“The parties reached an agreement on the purchase of US aircraft by China, as well as ensuring the supply of US aircraft engines and components to China,” the statement said.

The two countries also agreed to continue developing cooperation in other related fields, the ministry added.

Previously, US President Donald Trump mentioned that the number of Boeing aircraft ordered by China, based on previously announced agreements, could reach 750 units.

According to the US leader, Beijing agreed to buy 200 Boeing aircraft, although China has not confirmed the agreement.

“I said this to Boeing and General Electric, we will use General Electric engines, which are very good. If they do a good job, we can reach 750 units,” Trump told Fox News.

Trump made a state visit to China on May 13-15, where he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that his counterpart, Donald Trump, agreed to build stable and strategic as well as sustainable China-US relations.
