China to invest in Thailand
HONG KONG (AFP): China Aerospace International Holdings Ltd.
said yesterday it was considering investing in telecommunications
in Thailand.
Wang Mei-yue, president of the Chinese firm which is listed in
Hong Kong, said investments in Thailand might include global
positioning satellite applications, digital cable TV and direct
broadcast satellites.
He did not specify which Thai company it was negotiating with
or what size the investments might be.
"We are confident in such investments. Not only Thailand needs
them but also China, Taiwan and several other countries in the
region need them," Wong said.
He said the investments may also involve manufacturing and
marketing.
