China to intensify military drills and combat training in 2026

Beijing (ANTARA) – China will increase military training in 2026, according to a report presented at the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) on Thursday 5 March. ‘There is a need to advance military education and combat training comprehensively, dynamically strengthen advanced combat capabilities, and enhance strategic capabilities to safeguard China’s national sovereignty, security, and development interests,’ the report said. It noted that China would step up efforts to reunify Taiwan and take a hard line against those who seek Taiwan independence, and would not allow other countries to interfere in the issue.
