Beijing (ANTARA) — China targets economic growth of 4.5-5 percent in 2026 and will pursue stronger results in its implementation, according to a government work report submitted on Thursday, 5 March, to the country’s top legislature for discussion. The main development targets for the year also include: an urban unemployment rate based on survey of around 5.5 percent; more than 12 million new urban jobs; a rise in the consumer price index of around 2 percent; personal income growth in line with economic growth; a basic balance in the balance of payments; food production around 700 million tonnes; and a reduction of about 3.8 percent in carbon dioxide emissions per unit of gross domestic product.
