Beijing (ANTARA) - China has the world’s largest reserves for 14 types of mineral resources, including rare earths, tungsten, tin, molybdenum, antimony, gallium, germanium, indium, fluorite, and graphite, according to the country’s latest mineral resource data.

In 2025, the country will also hold the first global ranking in the production of 17 types of mineral resources, including coal, vanadium, titanium, zinc, rare earths, tungsten, tin, molybdenum, antimony, gallium, indium, gold, and tellurium, according to China’s Ministry of Natural Resources on Wednesday (29/4).

China’s mining industry output will reach approximately 32.7 trillion yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,522) or about 4.77 trillion US dollars (1 US dollar = Rp17,245) in 2025, accounting for more than 23 percent of China’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), underscoring the country’s position as the world’s largest in terms of mineral production, smelting, and processing.

China is also a dominant supplier for the global smelting and processing industry, ministry officials said at a press conference on Wednesday, adding that China’s resource base helps maintain the stability of the country’s industrial chain and supports the development of new sectors, while contributing to global well-being.
