Beijing (ANTARA) - The National Natural Science Foundation of China released the country’s top 10 scientific advances for 2025 at the opening ceremony of the Annual Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) 2026 in Beijing on Wednesday. The list includes samples from the Moon retrieved by the Chang’e-6 mission, which for the first time unveiled the evolutionary history of the Moon’s far side and the effects of major impacts; innovative methods for large-scale production of ultra-flat flexible diamond films; and EAST, a large-scale scientific facility for controlled nuclear fusion, which achieved stable operation at a temperature of 100 million degrees Celsius. This annual selection of China’s top 10 scientific advances began in 2005, according to Dou Xiankang, the foundation’s director. The top 10 most important advances for 2025 were selected from more than 600 innovative basic research achievements. The ZGC Forum 2026, held from 25 to 29 March, is themed “Full Integration between Technology and Industry Innovation”.
