China releases development plan for electronic information manufacturing sector

Beijing (ANTARA) - China has recently published a development plan for the electronic information manufacturing industry covering the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), stating that the sector will play a central role in the global industrial landscape.

By 2030, industrial companies in this sector with annual main-business revenue of at least 20 million yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,629) are expected to record combined total revenue exceeding 30 trillion yuan, according to the plan issued jointly by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission.

During this period, a series of competitive advantages in technology and products will emerge in sectors such as integrated circuits, advanced computing, consumer electronics, basic electronics, and energy electronics, the plan stated.

The plan sets research and development (R&D) investment intensity in the sector at 3.5 per cent, with the penetration rate of new-generation intelligent terminal applications expected to rise significantly.
