China reassures stable yuan
HANOI (AFP): China's central bank deputy governor on Thursday
reassured his ASEAN counterparts and deputy finance ministers of
China's commitment to maintaining a stable yuan.
"There is no doubt that China is committed to the stability of
the yuan," Xiao Gang, deputy governor of the People's Bank of
China, said at a meeting here.
Deputy bank governors and vice finance ministers from China,
South Korea and Japan met with their Association of Southeast
Asian Nations here on the eve of a meeting of ASEAN finance
ministers.
