China issues guidelines for high-quality e-commerce development
Beijing (ANTARA) - China has issued guidelines to promote high-quality development in the e-commerce sector with the aim of strengthening its role in supporting the real economy, as announced by the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.
The document outlines key measures to deepen the integration of the digital and real economies, focusing on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and rural areas through e-commerce, accelerating industrial digitalisation, and promoting technological innovation to enhance consumption quality.
It also highlights efforts to expand high-standard openness by advancing cross-border e-commerce and the Silk Road e-commerce initiative, while encouraging greater alignment with international rules in areas such as digital trade.
To foster a healthy development ecosystem, the guidelines call for clarifying platform responsibilities, strengthening regulation, and supporting e-commerce companies in global expansion in accordance with relevant regulations.
Supporting measures include improving financial services, activating the value of data elements, and strengthening talent development for the industry.
The Ministry of Commerce has also committed to working with relevant departments to ensure the effective implementation of these guidelines.
