Beijing — China has introduced the domestically developed T1200 ultra-strong carbon fibre, claimed to be the world’s strongest, on Wednesday 11 March, for utilisation in the aerospace sector, low-altitude economy and humanoid robotics.

The developer of the material, China National Building Material Group Co Ltd (CNBM), stated that the new material is not merely a laboratory finding but has already achieved annual production capacity at the level of hundreds of tonnes, making China the first nation to produce carbon fibre of such quality on a mass scale.

This leap from laboratory to large-scale manufacturing is expected to accelerate the application of carbon fibre across various high-technology industries.

The fibre has a diameter less than one-tenth of a human hair, yet possesses tensile strength 10 times greater than ordinary steel, with a density that is only one-quarter that of steel.
