China Hopes for Restoration of Safe and Free Navigation in the Strait of Hormuz
Beijing (ANTARA) - Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Monday expressed hope that safe and free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz would be restored as soon as possible. During a press conference, Lin stated that China is ready to maintain communication with regional countries and the international community on related issues. He also noted that China has observed the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is included in the first phase of a memorandum of understanding concluded between Iran and the United States. Lin stressed that the Strait of Hormuz is a crucial channel for international navigation, and restoring stability there serves the common interests of regional nations and the international community.
