China holds National Ecology Day celebration in Inner Mongolia

China celebrated its fourth National Ecology Day on Saturday (15/8), with the main event held in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

During the event, the National Development and Reform Commission, the country’s top economic planning agency, outlined policies regarding the nation’s circular economy.

Delegates from international organisations also attended the event and shared their views on the global significance of the green development philosophy.

This year’s National Ecology Day carried the theme “Building a Green Foundation for China’s Modernisation”.

China’s Ecological and Environmental Code officially came into force on Saturday, marking an important milestone in the country’s efforts to strengthen the legal foundation for harmony between humanity and nature.

Officials from various other state agencies, including the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, elaborated on legal documents related to ecological civilisation and highlighted progress in the implementation of the “Beautiful China” initiative.
