China has never barred technology firms from receiving foreign investment
Beijing (ANTARA) - Openness is a fundamental policy of the Chinese state, and China has never required its technology companies to reject foreign investment, the nation’s top economic planning body said on Friday (May 22). “China supports its firms to integrate into the global innovation network and to engage in exchanges and international cooperation that are mutually beneficial,” said Li Chao, spokesperson for the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China, during a press conference. Foreign investment must comply with Chinese laws and regulations and must not harm China’s security or national interests, Li asserted. Li added that China will continue to implement the Foreign Investment Law, improve its business environment, and manage risks effectively.
