China donates motorbikes to police

JAKARTA: The Chinese government on Tuesday donated 1,000
Chinese-made motorcycles to the Indonesian Police.

The donation was accepted in a ceremony involving national
police chief Gen. Da'i Bachtiar and the Chinese ambassador for
Indonesia Lu Shumin at the national police headquarters.

The Lifan brand two-seater motorcycles, which each cost about
Rp 23 million (US$2,), are to be distributed to provincial police
across Indonesia. -- AFP
