China confirms three of its ships passed through Hormuz in recent days
Beijing (ANTARA) - Three Chinese ships have sailed through the Strait of Hormuz in recent days with facilitation and coordination from relevant parties, confirmed spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, on Tuesday. Mao made the statement during a routine press briefing in response to media questions about whether China had received further assurances from Iran guaranteeing the safety of navigation and the smooth flow of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. “We thank the relevant parties for their assistance,” said Mao, adding that the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters serve as a crucial international shipping route for commodities and energy trade. China calls for an immediate ceasefire to restore peace and stability in the Gulf region, Mao added.
