Jakarta — The China Chamber of Commerce Indonesia (CCCI) has established a partnership with the Indonesian Muslim Workers Union (Sarbumusi) to distribute approximately 1,000 aid packages to vulnerable workers and orphans in the Jakarta region ahead of Ramadan.

The assistance is intended to serve as a bridge for further strengthening bilateral cooperation and mutual understanding between the two nations’ peoples.

The symbolic handover of aid took place at the headquarters of Nahdlatul Ulama’s Central Board (PBNU), which is the parent organisation of Sarbumusi, in Jakarta on Thursday (12 March), and was attended by PBNU General Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf.

“We hope that this assistance serves as the initial gateway not only to develop harmonious industrial relations in the workplace, but also to strengthen relations between Indonesia and China amid the current global geopolitical situation,” said Sarbumusi President Irham Ali Saifuddin in Jakarta.

CCCI Commissioner Wang Le emphasised that Chinese industrial operators in Indonesia are committed not only to economic cooperation but also to social responsibility and community development. This is demonstrated, among other things, by the distribution of social assistance to vulnerable worker groups.

CCCI hopes that such assistance distribution activities can strengthen exchanges and promote mutual understanding between the citizens of both nations. Going forward, CCCI will continue to collaborate with local partners, including organisations such as Sarbumusi, to provide greater benefits to the local community.
