China asserts all nations are equal regardless of size

New York (ANTARA) - Chinese Vice President Han Zheng stated that all countries, regardless of their size, are equal members of the international community and that global affairs must be resolved through mutual consultation.

“China believes that all countries, regardless of size, are equal members of the international community, and global affairs must be resolved through consultation and universal respect for international law, justice, and impartiality,” Han said during his speech at the UN General Assembly on Saturday (26/9).

According to Han, all nations must unite and take action to preserve and strengthen the United Nations (UN).

“We must set aside ideological prejudices, respect the development paths and social systems chosen independently by the people of each country, deepen the exchange of governance experiences, and jointly seek solutions to global challenges,” Han remarked.

The 81st Session of the UN General Assembly officially opened in New York on 8 September 2026. The high-level week is traditionally part of the session series.

The UN General Debate took place from 22-26 September and will continue on 28 September.
