China and Indonesia Commit to Strengthening Exchange and Cooperation

Beijing (ANTARA) - China’s highest legislator, Zhao Leji, met with the Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Ahmad Muzani, in Beijing on Sunday (20/9), where both parties committed to strengthening exchange and cooperation between the two countries.

Zhao, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China, stated that China is willing to work with Indonesia to follow the strategic guidance of both heads of state and to promote continuous progress in bilateral friendship.

The NPC is prepared to maintain close exchanges with the Indonesian MPR, expand cooperation and exchange, deepen the sharing of governance experiences, and better serve the development and rejuvenation of their respective nations, Zhao said.

Expressing that Indonesia and China share a deep friendship, Muzani stated that it is hoped this visit to China will strengthen the cooperative friendship between relevant institutions and the people of both countries, and that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations can continue to be elevated to a higher level.

The Indonesian MPR is willing to increase exchanges with China’s NPC and promote deep and substantive cooperation between the two countries across various fields, Muzani added.
