Chilling Footage Captures Moment Drone Strikes Kuwait Airport
Kuwait’s civil aviation authority has released surveillance footage it claims shows an Iranian drone crashing into the grounds of Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. The footage emerged amid mounting security tensions in the Gulf region. In the recording, an unmanned aerial vehicle is seen flying over Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport. Local authorities had earlier halted all flight operations after drone and missile strikes damaged airport facilities and several diplomatic missions. Shortly afterwards, the unmanned aircraft struck the airport’s roof, triggering an explosion followed by flames and a plume of smoke billowing into the sky. Kuwait’s state news agency reported the attack caused ‘severe damage’ to the Terminal 1 building at Kuwait International Airport. Damage to the airport’s infrastructure triggered operational disruption and heightened concerns over aviation security in the country. In footage from inside the airport, two individuals are seen walking alongside a security officer when the attack and explosion occurred. According to Kuwaiti authorities and state media, the incident killed one person and left more than 60 others injured. Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has denied deliberately targeting Kuwait International Airport. Iranian state media reported the damage was caused by an American interceptor missile that missed its target. However, the US military rejected those claims and stated the Iranian drone was intentionally directed at the airport.
