Children's congress moves to Bali
JAKARTA: Thousands of children are scheduled to flock to Bali next week to attend the third Congress of Indonesian Children from Jan. 24 to Jan. 30.
National Commission for Children's Protection (Komnas PA) chairman Seto Mulyadi said in a statement that the children would hold several events and discuss some issues with related ministers during the congress.
He said that the children would also meet governors of West Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Central Java and Jakarta, to become familiar with the recently endorsed Law No. 23/2002 on the protection of children.
The children will also have a dialog with State Minister of the Environment Nabiel Makarim and Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Rokhmin Dahuri in Kuta Beach, Bali.
To express their love for peace and art, Seto said that the children would also make a peaceful resolution and host an art exhibition on Jl. Legian in Kuta. --JP
