Children in Kediri Receive English and Social Media Training

Yayasan Kekuatan Cinta Indonesia has launched a character development and skill enhancement programme for children in Keling Village, Kepung District, Kediri Regency, East Java. The programme was officially launched on Friday, 22 May 2026, at Babussalam Pesantren in Kediri Regency, the venue for the activities. During the event, the foundation distributed T-shirts and sports shoes to teachers to mark the programme’s commencement.

Betania Eden Thenu, Chairman of Yayasan Kekuatan Cinta Indonesia, stated that participants would receive English language training and social media usage training.

“We see this as an opportunity to improve human resource quality. Therefore, we have included English training with tutors from Indonesia and Europe so that children can practice direct communication,” she told reporters on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

Additionally, participants will be introduced to digital content creation skills to gain additional capabilities in the digital era.

“Since this is the digital age, we are equipping children with content creation skills so that after leaving the pesantren or school, they have additional abilities,” she said.

According to Betania, the programme is intended for all beneficiaries of MBG from SPPG Keling 01 managed by Yayasan Kekuatan Cinta Indonesia. The activity also involves collaboration with Kodim 0809/Kediri to support the MBG programme’s implementation.

Betania noted that training is not only provided to students but also to teachers and accompanying mentors. Teachers will be guided to help students use social media wisely and productively.

“Teachers will also be involved so they can guide students in using social media properly,” she said.

Meanwhile, Kodim 0809/Kediri Commander Lieutenant Colonel Dhavid Nur Hadiansyah, through Kodim 0809/Kediri Chief of Staff (Kasdim) Major Yuliadi Purnomo, expressed support for the programme.

He assessed that character development and skill training for the younger generation are important for fostering discipline and preparedness for the future.

“Programmes like this are part of the synergy between government, social institutions, the education sector, pesantrens, and the community in building the younger generation,” said Yuliadi.
