Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) supports the police in cooperating with Interpol to uncover a case of child sexual exploitation suspected to involve a Japanese national.

“We urge the police to accelerate the investigations with a focus on locating the victims as witnesses and to collaborate with Interpol and other relevant parties in the disclosure of data and digital information as admissible evidence,” said Minister for PPPPA Arifah Fauzi in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Arifah Fauzi emphasised that KemenPPPA is ready to collaborate, providing comprehensive and integrated support as the rights of the victims.

“Every child has the right to protection, a sense of security, and an environment conducive to optimal growth and development. Therefore, all forms of sexual exploitation of children must receive shared attention and be handled seriously, comprehensively, and oriented toward the best interests of the child,” said Arifah Fauzi.

“If there are elements of recruitment, relocation, sheltering, or any party that profits from the exploitation of children, then handling must be carried out in line with the spirit of eradicating human trafficking, as regulated under Law Number 21 of 2007, including ensuring restitution rights for child victims,” said Minister Arifatul Choiri Fauzi.
