Child Sexual Abuse Perpetrator on the Run Since 2025 Arrested in Bali

Two criminal suspects listed on the wanted persons list (DPO) have been arrested by the Mobile Investigation Unit (Resmob) of the Situbondo Police Criminal Investigation Unit in their hiding places on the island of Bali. Suspect DEF (38), a resident of Banyuputih District, was arrested in connection with a case of aggravated theft while working as a construction labourer in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. The suspected perpetrator in a child sexual abuse case, identified as KF alias D (40), a resident of Panji District, was apprehended in Tianyar District, Karangasem Regency, Bali Province. Situbondo Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Bayu Anuwar Sidiq, stated on Sunday that the successful arrests were the result of hard work by his members in investigating and tracking the perpetrators who attempted to flee from the legal process. “Our commitment is clear: every criminal perpetrator who harms the community will continue to be pursued until captured. Even if they flee to other regions, we will not stop the search,” Bayu said. Head of the Situbondo Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Adjunct Police Commissioner Selimat, added that during the arrest of the theft and aggravated theft suspect, officers seized several pieces of evidence believed to be related to the crime. “The evidence we secured includes a mobile phone, hundreds of empty vouchers, cash, a motorcycle, and CCTV footage which provided crucial leads during the investigation,” Selimat stated. Regarding suspect KF, Selimat explained that he had been on the wanted persons list since December 2025 for the alleged sexual violence against a child that occurred in 2024 in the Panji District area. “This sexual abuse perpetrator had been a DPO for quite some time, and after conducting searches and developing information, we managed to track his whereabouts until he was finally arrested in Bali,” he said. Both suspects have now been taken to the Situbondo Police headquarters to undergo further investigation according to their respective criminal cases. AKP Selimat added that the Situbondo Police Criminal Investigation Unit has formed a Quick Reaction Team (URC) Anti-Robbery, which not only focuses on handling street crime but also serves as a rapid response unit in uncovering various criminal acts that disturb the community.
