Child Rights Fulfilment Index Rises During Prabowo Government’s First Two Years
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi said the Child Rights Fulfilment Index increased from 68.87 to 70.19 during the first two years of the Prabowo-Gibran administration.
“Regarding the fulfilment of children’s rights and special protection for children, the data show an improvement from 2024 to 2025. The Child Rights Fulfilment Index rose from 68.87 to 70.19,” Minister Arifah Fauzi said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Fauzi added that the rate of child marriage fell from 5.90 per cent to 4.56 per cent, while the proportion of child labourers declined from 2.17 per cent to 1.80 per cent. These figures were accompanied by recovery and prevention interventions in various areas, including Lombok and Jember.
She said the ministry was also working with various parties to assist children forced to work. As a result, 160 child labourers returned to school. Prevention activities also reached 1,379 children at risk of becoming child labourers.
During the first two years of the Prabowo-Gibran administration, the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection has continued to take strategic steps to improve women’s quality of life, expand access to support for victims of violence, fulfil children’s rights and strengthen protection for children requiring special protection (AMPK).
The ministry said this commitment makes a tangible contribution to supporting the Asta Cita programme and the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
“These two years remind us that behind every policy is a woman’s hope of living independently and a child’s dream of growing up without fear. Various strategic indicators show positive trends. Opportunities for women in the workforce are expanding, child marriage and child labour are declining, and protection services for victims of violence are becoming more widely available,” Minister Arifatul Choiri Fauzi said.
