Child Killer in Bilqis Case Revealed to Be Stepfather’s Old Friend
Police have arrested Suparman, also known as Blendus, 53, for robbing and murdering primary school pupil Bilqis Rajiansyah Lestari, 11, in a brutal attack in Sragen, Central Java. The perpetrator is an old friend of the victim’s stepfather. Sragen Police Chief AKBP Bewiana Syamsu Indyasari stated that the suspect was an old acquaintance of the victim’s stepfather and had previously visited the residence, likely allowing him to study the situation at the crime scene. The connection between the suspect and the stepfather, Sukardi, was formed when they were neighbours in Bumiaji Village, Gondang District, Sragen Regency, before Sukardi married the victim’s mother. This familiarity meant the suspect was not a stranger to the household, having visited the family’s new home, which they had occupied since the beginning of the fasting month. The stepfather was reportedly aware of his friend’s criminal past, including a prior prison sentence, though the family never anticipated such a vicious act against their child. Police confirmed the stepfather has no criminal record. When asked about the possibility of other perpetrators, authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing, pending forensic laboratory results and DNA tests, which could lead to the identification of additional suspects.
