Child in Jasinga Killed by Hunting Dogs; 57 People Under Investigation

The Bogor Police Department is examining 57 individuals in connection with the case of a nine-year-old boy who died after being bitten by wild boar hunting dogs in Jasinga, Bogor, West Java. Additionally, police have secured 21 vehicles used to transport the hunting dogs.

“In the development of this case, the police have interrogated and secured a total of 5t7 witnesses and related parties, and have seized evidence in the form of 21 four-wheeled vehicles,” stated Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto in a written statement on Monday (8/7/2026).

Wikha stated that he is personally overseeing the handling of the case and ensured that the investigation is being conducted transparently. He urged the public, particularly residents of Jasinga, to remain calm and avoid wild speculation on social media, as the legal and medical investigations are being handled through measured procedures.

“All evidence, including the vehicles, the examination of 57 people, and the laboratory testing of hundreds of animals, serves as a strong foundation for investigators to resolve this matter professionally and transparently. We ask the community to place their full trust in the officers and to work together to maintain regional stability,” said Wikha.

It was previously reported on social media that a video surfaced showing the discovery of the body of a nine-year-old boy in Jasinga, Bogor. The victim, identified by the initials MAS, was reportedly bitten by hunting dogs while fishing. The discovery of the body was confirmed by Jasinga Police Chief Iptu Agus Hidayat.

“It is true, a body was found. The discovery location was in Sipak Village, Jasinga. The victim was nine years old, according to information from the family,” said Iptu Agus on Sunday (7/6).

“Initial information from residents suggested the victim was fishing when he was bitten by hunting dogs. This is only the preliminary information and is still suspected. After officers checked the location, it was confirmed that the body of a young child was indeed found,” he added.
