Access to safe and child-friendly recreational spaces is considered to support children’s growth and development, complementing the roles of education and healthcare. During the National Children’s Day commemoration, various parties organised activities that invited children to interact, recreate, and learn together with their families. One such initiative was carried out by CGV Cinemas Indonesia in collaboration with Make-A-Wish Indonesia through the CGV Cares for Children social responsibility programme at CGV Grand Indonesia on Wednesday (22/7). The activity was attended by wish children, wish alumni, volunteers, and chaperones. Participants took part in various activities, such as decorating bungeoppang, or fish-shaped pastries, and doughnuts before watching a children’s film in a SCREENX auditorium, which features a 270-degree panoramic screen. CGV Cinemas Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Mark Nah stated that a cinema is not only a place to watch films but can also serve as a space for children to interact and spend time with their families. ‘Through CGV Cares for Children, we aim to provide a meaningful experience for children. We hope CGV can continue to be a space for entertainment as well as beneficial learning for more Indonesian children,’ Mark said on Thursday (23/7/2026). The film screened featured the adventure story of Moana, conveying messages of courage, hope, and the spirit to face challenges. The story encourages children to believe in their own abilities and to keep pursuing their dreams. Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Make-A-Wish Indonesia, Julienne Sunarjo, said that National Children’s Day serves as a reminder that every child has the right to enjoy a childhood filled with happiness and hope. ‘We are grateful to CGV Indonesia and all partners who have provided a day full of laughter, togetherness, and beautiful memories for the Make-A-Wish Indonesia families,’ she said. The programme is one of the company’s social responsibility initiatives targeting children. The company currently operates 73 cinemas with 416 screens spread across more than 30 cities in Indonesia.
