CCTV footage showing a man in a ride-hailing jacket allegedly sexually abusing an eight-year-old child has gone viral on social media. The victim was heard screaming during the incident.

According to the video circulating on social media on Wednesday (16/09/2026), the perpetrator can be seen walking through an alleyway where two young girls were present. The man in the ride-hailing jacket approached one of the children and pulled her into the garage of a house.

The victim is believed to have suffered abuse and managed to cry out for help.

Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Kombes Andi Oddang Riuh Hutomo, stated that the incident occurred on Friday (11/09) in Jatimulya, South Tambun, Bekasi Regency. He noted that the PPA (Women and Child Protection) Unit IV of the Bekasi Metro Police immediately conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect, identified by the initials DB.

“Through a series of investigations, the police successfully identified the perpetrator, DB. Officers subsequently received information that the individual had fled to the Tegal area in Central Java,” Kombes Andi said in a written statement on Wednesday (16/09).

Investigators have also seized evidence, including the vehicle used, the victim’s clothing, a mobile phone, and the ride-hailing driver’s jacket. Police have also reviewed CCTV footage from the surrounding area.

“Bekasi Metro Police have also conducted examinations of several witnesses, medical examinations for the victim, and coordinated to provide psychological and social assistance to the child,” he explained.

He emphasised that the case is being handled professionally with a focus on victim protection, and expressed hope that all parties would assist in protecting the victim.

“Bekasi Metro Police urge the public not to disseminate the identity, photos, address, or any other information that could reveal the child victim’s identity. Members of the public who witness or experience violence against women and children are encouraged to report immediately to the police via the 110 service,” he added.
