Chief of Staff: National Nutrition Agency Head Dismissed Possibly Due to Alleged Kitchen Procurement Bribery

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chief of Staff to the President (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman, stated that the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, may have been removed from his position due to alleged involvement in the buying and selling of kitchen sites for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. “Yes, I have received information to that effect,” said Dudung when questioned regarding the alleged kitchen procurement case involving the former BGN Head, following a working meeting at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He noted that President Prabowo Subianto has also been aware of information regarding issues within the BGN for some time, from various sources. According to him, the President intends for the MBG programme to be implemented by the BGN as effectively as possible.

“The President wants perfection, ensuring that no deviations from his programme occur, as this involves public funds that must be accounted for to the people,” he said. He added that the dismissal of the former BGN Head, Dadan Hindayana, was an appropriate step taken by the President to improve the BGN’s transparency and accountability.

He stated that the President does not want corruption or irregularities to occur within the BGN environment. “There must be no deviations, and no actions that benefit individuals, groups, or factions; the President truly wants this to be for the benefit of the people,” he said.

He further explained that the President’s intention in implementing the MBG programme is not only to improve children’s intelligence through nutritious food, but also to ensure that BGN management is structured in a way that leaves no loopholes for parties seeking illicit profit. “This is what we will continue to monitor. I will personally conduct field checks, and whatever I find, I will report to the press. That is all. I have no burden to carry,” he concluded.
