Chickin Indonesia Partners with UMUKA Solo to Develop Future "Food Heroes"
KARANGANYAR — Chickin Indonesia (PT Sinergi Ketahanan Pangan) has established its first partnership with Universitas Muhammadiyah Karanganyar (UMUKA) Solo, launching a training and recruitment programme in the livestock sector for students of the D3 Animal Production programme.
The two institutions have entered into a cooperation agreement aimed at developing the potential of university graduates and building a sustainable partnership.
"This collaboration is one of UMUKA's efforts to expand its partnership network," said UMUKA Solo Rector Muh Samsuri on Monday (14/4).
The primary objective of the partnership is to produce UMUKA graduates who are ready to contribute as "Food Heroes" through the selection programme.
"This Training of Selection is the first programme of its kind in Solo between UMUKA Solo and PT Chickin Indonesia, combining intensive classroom learning with direct hands-on experience from field practitioners," he explained.
Siti Rahma Syafira Asya from Chickin Human Capital noted that UMUKA produces graduates with significant potential who need to be supported through training programmes.
"We can see that graduates from Universitas Muhammadiyah Karanganyar have great potential for us to assist through training programmes like this, so that we can establish a sustainable, long-term cooperation," she added.
The partnership involves not only current UMUKA students but also alumni. The cooperation model is realised through the "Training of Selection" programme, which is Chickin's first such initiative in Solo with UMUKA.
Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UMUKA, Ir Puji Astuti, added that the training would run for approximately three days and involve mentoring from the Smart Farm team.
"The aim of this cooperation is to provide knowledge and strengthen networks with companies, particularly in the livestock sector," she said.
Beyond involving final-semester students, the partnership also recruits alumni for training, with the opportunity to undergo a selection process for company recruitment.
"The company is interested in UMUKA alumni because several graduates already working at the company have demonstrated strong performance, prompting them to pursue further recruitment," she concluded.
