Chicken slaughterhouse

JAKARTA (JP): The largest chicken slaughterhouse in the
country with a slaughtering capacity of 32,000 chickens per day
will be built with an investment of Rp 17 billion (US$7.5
million) on a 10-hectare area in Salatiga, Central Java.

"The slaughterhouse, which will use modern equipment, is
expected to fulfill the demand for chickens in Central Java and
Yogyakarta," said Sasmita, the president of PT Bina Karunia Alam
Nusantara Yogyakarta, the company which will set up the
slaughterhouse.

Sasmita was quoted by Antara as saying on Saturday in
Semarang, Central Java, that his company will export part of its
products to Singapore and Malaysia.

Sasmita explained that the slaughterhouse will be supported by
the poultry husbandry of PT Handinisasmita Mukti Yogyakarta. (31)
