Chicken Farm in Sentolo, Kulon Progo, Destroyed by Fire

A chicken coop in Padukuhan Bulak, Tuksono Village, Sentolo Subdistrict, Kulon Progo, was completely destroyed by fire. As a result of the incident, the coop owner suffered losses of around Rp 15 million.

Head of Public Relations at the Kulon Progo Police, Inspector Sarjoko, said the fire occurred on Sunday (6/9) at around 21:00 WIB. At the time, a witness passing near the location saw the chicken coop already ablaze.

“When the witness passed near the coop, they saw it was on fire. The witness then immediately informed the coop owner,” said Sarjoko when contacted by detikJogja on Monday (7/9/2026).

“The owner then contacted the Kulon Progo fire brigade and the Sentolo Police. Officers subsequently went to the location to handle the situation,” he continued.

Sarjoko added that the fire was extinguished about 30 minutes after officers arrived.

“The fire was successfully extinguished at around 21:30 WIB,” he said.

Sarjoko said there were no casualties in the incident. However, the fire caused damage to the chicken coop, with material losses estimated at Rp 15 million.

“Losses reached Rp 15 million and there were no casualties,” he said.

Police are still handling the case and investigating the cause of the fire.
