Chicken farm guard killed

BOGOR: A guard at a chicken farm in the Cibadak area of Bogor was found dead on Thursday in a pond near the farm's chicken coop with a piece of wire wrapped around his neck.

The victim, Rohim, 21, a resident of Nganjuk in East Java, had only worked at the farm --owned by H. Acing, 48--for the last three months.

Sofian, 37, a resident of Cibadak said that the coop was guarded by two men, namely Rohim and Lasito, both 23.

He said that on Wednesday seven unidentified people arrived at the farm and asked for some chickens. But the victim refused, saying that the chickens were still very small.

Early on Thursday, two unidentified people also appeared, asking for chickens. But the victim again refused. Rohim's body was then discovered at around 11 a.m.

The Bogor police are investigating the case. -- JP
