Chez Gado-Gado Restaurant in Seminyak Ravaged by Major Fire, Losses Estimated at Rp 4 Billion

The Chez Gado-Gado restaurant, located at Jalan Camplung Tanduk Number 99, Seminyak, Kuta, Badung, was hit by a severe fire on Sunday (30/08/2026) evening. The fire, which occurred at approximately 19:40 WITA, has caused losses estimated to reach Rp 4 billion.

The Head of the Badung Regency Fire and Rescue Service, Dewa Ngurah Bhayudewa, stated that the initial report of the fire was received from a restaurant security guard, I Gede Rai Parwita.

Officers departed at approximately 19:42 WITA and arrived at the scene by 19:50 WITA. A total of ten fire engines were deployed to manage the blaze.

The fire engines were dispatched from the Main Post, Kunti Post, Majapahit Post, Dalung Post, and Mengwi Post, with two units from each station.

Firefighters struggled for approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes to extinguish the flames consuming the building, which measures roughly 45 x 40 metres. “The amount of water used was approximately 115,000 litres,” he said when contacted by detikBali on Sunday (30/08/2026).

In addition to the firefighters, security efforts at the site involved PLN (the state electricity company), the police, security personnel, and local residents.

Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident. However, losses due to the fire are estimated at around Rp 4 billion, although assets valued at approximately Rp 700 million were successfully salvaged.

“The estimated loss is approximately Rp 4 billion. Salvaged property in the southern office is valued at around Rp 700 million,” he added.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the police.
