Chevron's local unit changes name
JAKARTA: U.S. energy giant Chevron Corporation has changed the name of its Indonesian subsidiary PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia to PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI).
The new name, in line with Chevron's policy in over 180 countries where it operates, became effective on Sept. 16, the company said in an e-mailed statement on Wednesday.
CPI is the largest oil producer in Indonesia, producing 478,000 barrels per day at present, roughly half of the country's total oil output, from its wells across Riau province. -- JP
