Chevron has new chief for RI unit
JAKARTA: Chevron Corp., the second-largest U.S. oil company, has appointed Suwito Anggoro to replace Wahyudin Yudiana Ardiwinata as head of its Indonesian unit.
Anggoro, who is Chevron Pacific's senior vice president for business development in Jakarta, will become the president director of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia starting on Dec. 1, company spokesman Harry Bustaman told reporters on Tuesday. Ardiwinata, who has been president director since May 2004, is retiring, he said.
Chevron Pacific, previously PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia, is the top oil producer in the country.
The company operates four areas in Riau and Sumatra under production-sharing contracts with the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BP Migas). The company produces about 500,000 barrels of crude oil a day, or about half of Indonesia's output. That's 35 percent less than its output of 770,000 barrels a day in 1998. -- Bloomberg
