Chery's compact EV Q surpasses 3,000 pre-orders in one month
PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) has recorded more than 3,000 pre-orders for its latest compact electric vehicle, the Chery Q, within one month since the programme opened on 18 May 2026. The company claims this achievement was reached while the pre-book period is still ongoing until 15 July 2026 and indicates a high market response to Chery’s newest electric vehicle model in the compact electric vehicle segment. “This achievement indicates that the Chery Q is able to meet the expectations of consumers who focus on practicality and complete features, while still answering their aspirational character,” said Vice Country Director of Chery Business Unit PT CSI Budi Darmawan Jantania through a press release received in Jakarta on Thursday. According to the company, the Chery Q offers a range of up to 400 kilometres based on NEDC standards with a 42.7 kWh battery capacity. This vehicle also supports fast charging, allowing a charge from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 16.5 minutes. The electric car also features 38 storage compartments, a 70-litre frunk, and a luggage space that can be expanded up to 1,450 litres. During the pre-book period, Chery is providing a free upgrade to the Sigma Package, which includes an Autonomous Parking Assist feature, Power Tailgate, 17-inch specially designed alloy wheels, and External Communication Audio. The company considers the initial booking figures position the Chery Q as one of the models receiving a strong market response in the compact electric vehicle segment, while the development of demand until the end of the booking period will be an indicator for the national electric vehicle market. “We are optimistic that this response will strengthen market confidence in the Chery Q and further inspire more consumers to switch to electric vehicles that are practical, have the most complete safety and security features, and align with an urban mobility lifestyle,” Budi said.
