Chery records 63 percent increase in orders at GIIAS 2026

During the 11-day Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, Chery recorded total vehicle orders of 3,500 units, an increase of around 63 percent compared with last year’s GIIAS.

Of the total orders, the Chery Q, the company’s latest electric vehicle, accounted for half, or 1,750 units.

“This positive response is proof of market acceptance of the products and innovations we have presented. For us, this achievement is certainly an encouragement to continue understanding consumer needs and presenting products that are relevant to the mobility needs of the Indonesian people,” said Chery Business Unit Vice Country Director Budi Darmawan Jantania in an official statement.

The Chery Q, the company’s third electric vehicle model in the Indonesian market, is equipped with a 42.7 kWh battery with a range of up to 400 km based on NEDC calculations. The car also features fast-charging technology that allows charging from 30 to 80 percent of battery capacity in just 16.5 minutes.

At the exhibition, which ran from 30 July to 9 August, Chery also brought its other new energy vehicle (NEV) line-up, including the Tiggo 8 hybrid and the J6T.

At the exhibition, Chery also recorded a total of 2,000 test drive sessions by visitors, the majority of whom tried the Chery Q. The car also won an award as the favourite passenger car in the hatchback segment at the exhibition.

At GIIAS 2026, Chery also introduced its newest vehicle line, the Chery Tiggo V, which adopts a 3-in-1 concept whereby the vehicle can function as an SUV, MPV and dual cabin at once. The model is available in hybrid and ICE variants.
