Chery QQ Set for Launch: Check Out the Electric Car Priced Around Rp 200 Million
The competition for affordable electric cars in Indonesia is set to become even fiercer. Following the entry of several Chinese brands, Chery is now preparing to bring its reliable compact electric model, the QQ3 EV, to the domestic market.
Head of Brand and Marketing for the Chery Business Unit, Arthur Panggabean, stated that the electric vehicle will be introduced to the Indonesian public on 18 May 2026.
According to him, the arrival of the Chery QQ in Indonesia is part of the company’s strategy to offer urban electric vehicles that meet the needs of urban consumers.
Meanwhile, one of Chery’s salespeople in Jakarta mentioned that the official launch along with the price announcement will take place at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2026, or GIIAS 2026, on 30 July 2026.
Arthur also revealed that the Chery QQ’s price positioning will be between the BYD Atto 1 and Geely EX2.
“The pricing positioning for the Chery QQ will be in the middle of the BYD Atto 1 and Geely EX2. But there is no information on the exact amount yet,” said the Chery salesperson on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Based on that positioning, the Chery QQ’s price is estimated to be around Rp 220 million.
With that price tag, Chery’s new electric car will directly compete with several compact electric models that have already been marketed in Indonesia beforehand.
